Known as the Silicon Valley of Korea, Gangnam-gu's "Teheran Valley" is a progressive commercial district along Teheran-no street. The street is home to numerous venture companies, especially IT and Internet-related companies. Many finance, insurance, and trade companies also have offices located here. In 1977, Teheran (Iran's capital city) made a suggestion to Seoul to use each other's capital city name as a street name. Korea accepted the suggestion as part of Korea's good neighbor policy. Teheran also has a street named "Seoul."
